The Kia Rio: Much More than Just Practical!

If you are looking for a great deal on a small car, you might want to take a look at the Kia Rio. Sure, it's a practical little car that is inexpensive, but it has many great features that may go overlooked.

Featuring a striking redesign, the 2018 Kia Rio is striking. Full of the newest and greatest technology, it is nicely equipped too. According to Kia, 90-percent of the Kia is new for 2018, including it's body. It's a little bigger, lighter and has more safety features than it's predecessor.

You'll be pleasantly surprised when you get behind the wheel of the new Kia Rio at Orangeville Kia. It is comfortable, stylish and outfitted with plenty of features. With six models to choose from, you can drive away in a Rio that has everything you want, or as simple as you need. Whether you choose the sedan, or the 5-door hatch, you'll find it versatile too.

All models are powered by a 130-hp, 1.6L 4-cylinder engine which is paired with either a  6-speed manual or a 6-speed Sportmatic automatic transmission. It sips fuel, consuming as little as 8.3 L/100km in the city and 6.4 L/100km on the highway.

Some notable optional features include autonomous emergency braking, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto integration, rain sensing wipers, push-button start and smart key. The most noteworthy optional feature is Kia's UVO Intelligence Connected Car Services. Connecting one's Rio and mobile phone, owners can remotely check vehicle diagnostics and receive maintenance warnings. One can turn the engine on or off remotely, control the interior temperature, activate the defroster and heated steering wheel or even unlock the vehicle's doors; all from any location through the app. It can pinpoint the vehicle's location, or in the event of an accident, onboard collision-notification will automatically call for help, and onboard roadside assistance with auto-location is available with a quick tap.

The manual base LX Rio is better equipped than you might expect for the price. A rearview camera, heated front seats, 15" wheels, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 5" audio display and Bluetooth all come standard. The next model up, the LX+ is available in either manual or automatic and adds air conditioning and  steering wheel mounted cruise control. From there, the level of standard equipment climbs significantly. The EX automatic gets a bigger 7-inch audio display, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto integration, alloy wheels, sunroof, fully automated climate control and UVO Intelligence Connected Car Services integration. Climbing to the EX Sport adds 17" alloy wheels, Sport alloy pedals, rain-sensing wipers and LED tail lights. Finally, the highest-level trim, the EX Tech adds Autonomous Emergency Braking, leather seats and navigation to everything else.

Starting from $14,795, the 2018 Kia Rio available now at Orangeville Kia is well-equipped and definitely a bargain. Drop by to experience it in person, or to take it out for a spin.
