This time of year, the automotive industry is filled with excitement generated by auto shows. At each event, important announcements are made, new vehicles are introduced, and we get a sneak peak at future models, both real and imagines. Recently, Montreal was the location of the official debut of the redesigned Kia Forte5, at the Montreal International Auto Show.
We invite you to be among the first to meet the redesigned Kia Forte5 in Orangeville, by visiting Orangeville Kia. The eagerly anticipated sibling to the Forte sedan, redesigned last year, the Forte5 sporty hatchback is a head turning fun little compact.
At first glance, this new model seems to have grown up, it's looks more mature. It's flashiness has been toned down a little bit, but it is unmistakably still a hot hatch and remains the performance-oriented member of the Forte family. Some of it's design cues seem to derive from a pair of it's cousins, the K3 GT sold in Korea, and the European Kia Procee'd. It's dimensions are a bit larger and it's stance has been lowered.
A pair of engine choices are available with the redesigned Forte5. The base will get the same engine found in it's sedan sibling, a 147-hp, 2.0L, matched with a CVT, which Kia calls an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) and replaces the previous 6-speed. Kia says that the IVT will offer better fuel economy and improved driving dynamics. The option of a manual transmission is no longer available.
For those who want the true hot hatch experience, there is the GT performance upgrade. It features a 1.6L GDI turbo engine that delivers 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, and will take you far in this light, little car. This engine choice is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Inside it's cabin, drivers will find the cockpit to be driver-centric, with everything perfectly positioned in an intuitive way. This ensures that your eyes can stay focused on the road ahead, as well as comfort. The interior features generous cargo space, made even bigger by rear seats that fold down flat when needed. There is extra storage space underneath, allowing you to store valuables out of sight. The hatchback's fifth door makes it easy to load and unload, as well as transport large or bulky items.
Set to arrive late this year as a 2020 models, exact details are still forthcoming. We do not yet know much about trims or pricing, although the Forte typically is made available in several well-equipped trims, so that there is sure to be one that fits perfectly into your lifestyle and budget. Kia does say that it will come with a long list of advanced safety features, as well as the tools you need to stay well connected during your journey.
A hatchback that is sure to impress with it's sharp looks and sporty performance, the redesigned Kia Forte5 will arrive in Orangeville at
, later this fall.
