What's New?
Everything is new. After a gap year of not having a true compact hatchback in the lineup, the K4 Hatchback car replaces the outgoing Forte5, and piggy-backs on the success and design of the K4 Sedan, introduced during the 2025 model year. All-new for 2026, and filled with smart features designed to enhance driver/passenger comfort, confidence, and everyday utility. Even more exciting - Kia Canada rolled out a pricing structure that makes it Canada's most affordable hatchback in the market, all without skimping on features/options. Like any good hatch, easy access and flexible rear seating to accommodate larger items, when needed, add to the vehicle's versatility and convenience.
With (6) different trim levels and (9) colour options, there stands a good chance that the K4 Hatch offers something for almost everyone looking for a compact vehicle.
Key Features
Like every Kia model rolling out of the factory now, it's filled with safety, tech and 'must-have' items.
Safety, as always, remains a priority, with advanced driver-assistance technologies - Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, and Smart Cruise Control -- all intended to relieve daily city and highway driving stress. Higher trim levels incorporate even more advanced Kia safety versions for an enhanced drive.
At the heart of the cabin is a sleek, driver-focused layout with a visually appealing digital display that integrates the instrument cluster and infotainment system into a clean, modern look. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity is standard - keeping navigation, music, and messaging seamlessly within reach.
The LX trim level comes standard with a lot of features that debunk the myth that a base vehicle needs to be features-less. At an attractive price-point it comes well-equipped leaning into heated seats, smart key with remote start, Kia Connect and more. Each successive jump up the trim level ladder adds a lot of desirable features with only modest jumps in MSRP. Two engine engines - 2.0L or 1.6L Turbo (found in the GT-Lines) offer good power (147hp/190hp) and off-the-line torque (132lb/ft or 195lb/ft), while keeping efficiency in mind.
